CHECK GUARANTEE
- Standard Check Guarantee: Check approval requested and issued at the point of sale via phone, terminal, or web portal. Check is then manually deposited into bank. Returned, bad, unpaid checks are mailed in for reimbursement.
- Electronic Check Processing with Guarantee: Check images are captured with desktop scanners or Mobile Pay app before submitting them to 1NPS. There are no reimbursement claim submissions because items returned are deducted from provider. Electronic Check Processing with Guarantee may be conducted via Conversion or Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) both of which turn the check into an electronic deposit.

Check Verification:
With Check Verification merchants are notified of the legitimacy of checks however the cost of returned items are not reimbursed. Merchants assume their own risk in accepting recommended checks.
Merchants simply enter checking account information at the point of sale. Checks are reviewed against large databases of check writers to receive one of two possible responses: Recommended or Not Recommended. If there are no negative records of the check writer in question, then the check will be recommended for deposit by the merchant.
Checks can be verified via phone, online portal, desktop application, or compatible third-party equipment.

Remote Deposit Capture / Check Conversion
Remote Deposit Capture is an advanced type of Electronic Check Processing that enables merchants to accept, process and deposit guaranteed checks into their business accounts without going to the bank. With RDC, Check images are captured with desktop scanners or Mobile Pay app for smart devices The captured digital image is transmitted to the provider, an approval code is issued, the consumer signs a receipt, and the funds are deposited to the Merchants bank account within 72 hours.
Remote Deposit Capture increases sales and mitigates risk. It also saves merchants valuable time and money by eliminating claims submissions, bank visits, missed deposits, the collection of bad checks, and more.
